After reading the essays I wanted to hear more from PTs and about their personal experiences. For my next stop in research I chose to read some blogs from PT’s to hear about their experiences, good or bad. At this point I want to hear what they really think, not just the good things that come from their job. I found a blog from a physical therapist in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lisa Mueller. She was very open about her opinion of the cons of physical therapy. Her first entry was about the pros and cons of owning a physical therapy business. In college I was hoping to major in a field of health science, but to minor in business. That way I could potentially manage my own physical therapy office.

After reading her first blog I was able to get a greater understanding on what owning an office is like,

“Owning a business requires taking a lot of risk. I’m sure there are owners of physical therapy practices who cut back their personal finances significantly in order to invest in their business. But how many physical therapy clinics live “paycheck-to-paycheck?”

Is it possible to investigate the financial stability of a clinic before accepting a job position? As my fellow ADVANCE blogger Allison Young has been writing about her own experience at a closing physical therapy practice, we know PT clinics ar ento immune to business failure.” The rest of the blogs that Lisa Mueller posted were not beneficial to me. The rest of the entries talked about her everyday life, and when she mentioned her job other information about physical therapy it was content that I already knew from my experience in my job.
